what a joy it was to photograph this family – so laid back and easy going. it’s great to have families let their guard down and just love on one another.

from the first time i spoke with kristen i knew we were meant to know one another. for this session we had lots of laughs – jokes and a whole lot of silliness thrown in. and that’s when it hits you… that beautiful moment where they focus in on each other and you can see a visible separation from everything around them. there’s something so special about a bond with your child that is indescribable.

newborns are one of my most favorite sessions to document! spring is FINALLY here and we’re taking full advantage of this time of the year by getting all our newborns outdoors! and with this sweet family of three, there’s an abundance of love that fills the air. she was a dream to photograph – sleeping the entire session barely making a peep! we ALL couldn’t be more in love with her!!!
may is a big month for cystic fibrosis — i met breck several years ago when we connected on so many levels. it was cystic fibrosis that was the biggest bond we shared. all year long breck and her husband work so hard to raise awareness and advocate to help find a cure for her sweet boy, bennett. this year she mentioned they used bennett on the front cover of the Hewitt Life magazine and a full spread story dedicated to him!! living with cystic fibrosis has so many daily complications but through it all they’ve remained positive and kept on fighting with the biggest smile on their face and warmest hearts!

tim’s sister was taken by cystic fibrosis at the age of 12. she touched so many lives while she was here with us on earth. life doesn’t seem fair at times nor does it make sense during those moments of so many emotions swirling around us. we miss her so much but know she’s here with us in our hearts and each year we walk in memory of jessica at the great strides walk downtown waco. what we do remember is her kindred spirit and sweet soul.
we were touched by an angel!

for this month the verdict is — love! when i first started my photography journey i knew i wanted to stray away from the traditional portraits that we’ve all grown up knowing…sitting in a studio — being forced to tilt your head at an awkward angle… and then here’s comes the weird photographer man making you say “CHEESE”. are those pictures real? never. but those are my memories as a child when it was time to get our portraits done. it’s those in-between moments of my babies that are the cherished ones on my walls. the little laughs after the awkward close ups… the silly knock knock jokes… those are the ones that make my heart so puffy happy. although we may be different in so many ways, our love will always remain the same.
